Federal prosecutor Raúl Pleé — an ally of President Mauricio Macri — made a fresh attempt to re-submit the complaint filed by Alberto Nisman accusing Cristina Fernández de Kirchner of seeking to whitewash the alleged Iranian involvement in the 1994 attack on the AMIA Jewish community centre.
Pleé requested that the Federal Criminal Cassation Court confirm the unconstitutionality of the 2013 Memorandum of Understanding with Iran. The move came after Justice Minister Germán Garavano confirmed that the Macri administration was going to drop the appeal filed by the Kirchnerite administration against the ruling that declared the agreement sealed with Tehran was unconstitutional.
