Buenos Aires Herald: Gov’t seeks to maintain warrants

President Mauricio Macri’s new administration has made it clear that it has every intention of maintaining international arrest warrants against three Iranian suspects of the 1994 AMIA Jewish community centre.

In July of this year Interpol requested re-confirmation that the motives for Argentina’s request for Red Notices against Ahmad Reza Ashgari, Mohsen Rabbani and Ali Fallahijan are still applicable. Federal Judge Rodolfo Canicoba Corral had requested the Red Notices following a brief by late AMIA special prosecutor Alberto Nisman in 2006 and they must be reviewed by the independent Commission for the Control of Interpol’s Files (CCF) as they are about to hit the 10-year mark.
